A message from the principal

It is with great excitement and deep honor that I introduce myself as your principal, Natascha Barreto-Romero. I am beginning my 11th year as a principal, and my journey in education has included serving as a teacher, reading specialist, instructional coach and assistant principal.

I am also a proud mom of three children who have been educated in Austin ISD schools. This personal connection grounds my work and reminds me daily of the trust families place in us to support, challenge and nurture their children.

As we prepare for the upcoming school year, Galindo will be a consolidating campus, bringing together three unique school communities. My goal is to honor the strengths, traditions and identities of each while building a shared sense of belonging for all students, families and staff.

At Galindo, we are committed to inclusive practices, meeting students where they are and providing the support each child needs to achieve at high levels. We strive to create a learning environment where every student feels seen, valued and empowered.

This year represents a new chapter where we come together to build something strong, supportive and inspiring for our students.
